What does historical revision mean in the context of a man whose world view was based on selective perception of what was going on around him? Here's an assessment from two people who knew him personally and intimately (taken from the transcript of American Experience: Reagan):

Sam
Donaldson, Journalist: Ronald Reagan doesn't see the world that you and I see. He sees a world through rose colored glasses. It's a wonderful world. But, it's not the real world that exists out there. And so, he didn't want to see a world in which he had traded arms for hostages. That ran against his grain. That's not his world, yet he did it.

Lou Cannon, Biographer: Reagan is a classic model of the successful child of an alcoholic. He doesn't hear things and doesn't see things that he doesn't want to hear and see. And that's the thing you learn. You learn that as a child, and Reagan learned it.

He could not fulfill all of his major goals at the same time; grow the economy, fight inflation, cut taxes, increase defense spending in order to defeat the Soviet Union, and, balance the budget.
We need 21st century Reaganomics - Opinion - The Orange County Register
Posting an article from the Orange County Register to defend a conservative would be like be posting an article from the LA times to defend a liberal

No, Congress controls spending. Of course a president signs it; what else can he do?

And what about the current national debt? It has increased by $3.4 trillion in only 2 years.
