"Lots" is not a number. Give us a number. I won't repeat my story right now of friends who went to Texas, were underwhelmed and came home.

Lots of Californians are moving everywhere as are lots of people moving into California. Not sure where you were trying to go with that one.

Too funny, a bunch of slave holding Americans move to Mexico (Texas was a province of Mexico).
Mexico outlaws slavery, the slave holding Mexicans (Texans to you) did not like that one bit, so they rebelled, The Mexican government government attempts to defend the state against the rebelling slave owners, they failed, but not before the "Alamo" where for some unknown reason, some defenders stuck around after the rest beat feet.

Apparently Davy Crockett himself begged for mercy from the legitimate national forces, but, as a rebel he got no quarter.

And, of course, the new nation of Texicans loved that song, The Yellow Rose of Texas, a song celebrating a mulatto prostitute "She's the sweetest rose of color".

Good ole Texas.

Not quite, considering Californians only receive .78 in Federal spending for every dollar they pay in taxes, while TX receives .94 (http://www.flickr.com/photos/michaelpinto/2987025203/ - broken link)!

Folks move to TX for much the same reasons they eat at Taco Bell or McDonald's, instead of at Ruth's Chris or Benihana.... and it ain't because of "quality"!

Immigrants (legal and illegal) don't count, CA has had a high domestic outflow for years.

There has always been a high volume of inflow into CA, all those blonde blue eyed California beach babes are the grandchildren of Iowa and Minnesota farmers,

and yes there is diffusion, but the state pop keeps going up. I find that sad, if there is any way to increase the outflow, I am in support of it, Higher taxes, coddling illegals, eroding infrastructure, anything, as long as it gets those cars heading east.

This was a great state with 10 million people.

True, but since the early 90's there has been a bigger outflow of people.

Oh don't worry, Ca's govt seems to doing all those things you listed but unfortunately for however many cars head east, 3 more head north into CA and with 7 people in a 5 passenger car too! Hell now they even used panga boats to come here!
