But, but, but ... sir

now, if you said CALIFORNIANS instead, then we could go somewhere. I would say they are hated because they are self absorbed, narcissists who are new agey, the worst kind of liberal (while still remaining deeply racist inside) who flock to other states and build huge mcmansions and kick and scream that these new places SUCK because they don't have whatever froo-froo shops these people are used to and GOD they are so IGNORANT back in Cali we would NEVER do this and that and blah blah blah.
The wonders of self-deception.

I've heard of complaints in colorado, texas, and pretty much all of the south, not to mention much of the west outside of the coast. Nope, californians aren't well liked. Sorry. I'm sure you people mean well enough but........
So you did a survey of 270+ million Americans and most of them hated California. Oh wait you're going of your experience. I experienced other wise, such as questions about how things are out here and how much they loved visiting. Negative people attract negative people.

For the skeptics that this attitude exists try doing a google search on, "california cess pool" or " I hate california.." I'd say the cesspool line sums up the sentiment. As for the I hate line, I compared that to other states as in "I hate ___" and california had the highest number of hits (in this highly scientific sampling method *chuckle*), compared to other states.
I'd tend to agree with those saying it has to do with jelousy though, for all the things california has given the nation (and their sad states haven't), and probably a large dose of ignorance and misinformation as well.

"So you did a survey of 270+ million Americans and most of them hated California.."

Also whether it's number one or not is really inconsequential, the point is the attitude IS there, and the question for me really is why is it there? why does California get singled out?

Shoot, you wanna hear some Oregon Jokes?
some Nevada Jokes?
How about Missouri Jokes?

Who cares what people somewhere else think of California.

At least they ain't here, gawd bless'em.

I betcha, a majority or near majority of Californians are no more than second or third generations, most of them Californians are really, Iowans, Minnesotans (just about anyplace with miserable winters) and Okies and Arkies, and Mowies, and Gawd bless'em, Texicans.
