It's funny that what prompted this thread was a rash of postings in 2011 from individuals specifically asking for liberal family friendly areas with the answer largely being Santa Monica, and now in 2016 big business moving to the area in droves has pushed affordability on the Westside far beyond what most people can afford.

They don't need things given to them. You will find the same result in affluent areas throughout the US. Still it must be hard to figure out things that don't fit the stereotypes that liberals pass for truth on the internet.
