Don't know about now but my wife and her two, then, young daughters lived there in the 80s and absolutely loved it. If you make the move I hope your experience is just as pleasant.

My wife and I moved to Placerville exactly six years ago, and we love it. We retired from long careers in public service in Southern California, and made the very wise decision to relocate up here in "the Motherlode" area. We had tons of friendly help from our dear friend, Judy Mathat. She is very knowlegeable about local real estate and has been a local resident forever.
