HI I am 21 years old and have been living in orlando for my whole life pretty much. I have a great backround in Luxuray brand retail management as well as administrative / Clerical. I have devised a plan to save about 10,000 and move into a share. I have looked at some possible roomates from Roomster.com Iam not sure if this would be a stupid thing to do. Also I am moving there with no job in hopes of being able to find one in the fist month atleast if not two. Also, I am planning on buying a cheap car once i am out there. I have never visited and I actually dont plan on visiting just plan ono taking a chance. How stupid on a scale of 1 - 10 does this sound to you? be nice!

May I ask why? If i can have enough money to atleast last me 3 months without a job. I know I have the personality and drive / experience to get a job ( not to be ingnorant) and if it doesnt work out within those 3 motnhs there is always home right? also do you think living in a share would be a bad idea? My own bedroom but maybe share a bathroom with strangers. =x ?

That's up to you whether or not you feel comfortable living with people you've never met before. Personally, I wouldn't be comfortable with this. If I were you, I'd do a thorough background check on anybody you plan to share a home with. There are a lot of weirdos out there and this is no time to be naive. Naivete may get you killed.

Despite your experience and confidence, there are so many others looking for the same jobs you are that are already there with a home, that money may be gone long before you get a job. Read the unemployment sections of the forum, there are many Californians that have been out of work a long time, and it is one of the most expensive places to live, with a state government that's struggling to stay afloat. I'd advise against this plan if you were coming here to Seattle, and our job situation is not as bad as CA at this point. As for sharing rent, again I'd advise against it, unless you are there a while and meet people to go in with. Too often you will find stranger roommates to be druggies, perverts or just wierdos, and that's anywhere. You can't always tell when you first meet them.
