officials can ignore U.S. laws, force FBI agents to get a sheriff's OK before arresting anyone, ban abortions, limit sex education in schools and create armed citizen militias
Serb forces and the JNA are setting the tone to....oops I'm sorry, this is Montana not Bosnia. The similarity momentarily confused me.

nullify federal laws could be dangerous.
"We are the United States of America," said Schweitzer. "This talk of nullifying is pretty toxic talk. That led to the Civil War."
Again, I point to Yugoslavia, that also helped lead to their civil war.

Don't be so sure. If it becomes really trendy, Hollywood will make a film about it, Bezerkeley will amp up its public exposure by protesting it, farm workers will march about it, gays will file suit against it, the CTA will demand extra pay for teaching about it, San Francisco will adopt it and the Legislature will start passing laws and regulations to legitimize it. Pretty soon, you'll have it or, more likely, some bastardized version thereof.

Some residents, Democratic Gov. Brian Schweitzer and even some Republican lawmakers say the bills are making Montana into a laughingstock.

They'll have to get in line behind Arizona.

That nullification/ "no arrest except by the sheriff" crapola is right out of the Posse Commitatus manual from the 90's. Resulted in some dead cops, as I recall.

On really bad days (like today) I find my self wondering if another civil war isn't necessary to settle this **** with these morons once and for all. Maybe this time, the Union will win...

The Tea Party worries me......as much as some of the extreme left-wing groups do. They just worry me in different ways. But seriously, the wacko left and the wacko right are a long way away from gaining enough popular support to be of concern. That would be like fearing the San Francisco style of liberalism will sweep the nation. Fat chance. The extremes will always have their support base, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. The only thing about the Tea Party I like is their emphasis on fiscal frugality. I'd like to ask them where they were when Bush was President though. It's not like he was tight with the money....

Haha....I know, right? If CA or any part of it adopts it, it will be called something like "Green Tea PArty" or even worse "Carmel Frappuccino Party" probably. Why the heck do they call it "Tea Party" anyhow, are the Brits behind this again?

So the Democrats are concerned when the Republicans want to ignore Federal law but it is OK when they do so by creating sanctuary cities for illegal immigrants and legalize marijuana.

Not all sanctuary cities are democrat controlled. Also, the democrats have ignored federal laws regarding pot legalization. However at no time as far as I'm aware have they called for the federal forces to have to check with local law enforcement. The feds have shut down weed dispensaries and at no time did a local law enforcement officer try to stop them.

Uh, I see....well in that case, I am all for it. Keep the darn taxes and government away, as there is too much of both in our lives.
