Hi! I am a Black Woman and my husband is a White man. We are considering moving to Southern California, Seattle, or one of the Carolina's. Any suggestions for safe and accepting areas to raise biracial children? Household Income $150K (young in our careers, salary will only increase). We don't have any children now, but are thinking for the future.

Interracial couples aren't allowed here. Please move on.

Speaking from the viewpoint of a former Bay Area resident who is very familiar with North Carolina, I can tell you that your attempt at a joke is neither funny nor accurate.

For the OP, I can tell you that any city in North Carolina is going to be a perfectly fine place to be a multi-racial family. Redneck areas in any state, including California, might prove more challenging.

In Northern California or Southern California you shouldn't have problem. In fact no one will care I am sure. Central California it is a bit different. The college towns should be ok.

North Carolina costal areas are cool. All of the college towns should be tolerable. Anywhere else in the Carolinas I wouldn't know. I hope this helps.

I lived in CA for 20 years. I was stationed in Virginia and visted N.Carolina on the weekends when I was in the military.

You're good to go in any area of California. Can't speak for the others, but white/black relationships and biracial children won't raise and eyebrow in this state.

Same for Seattle, where you'd get a little more for your money but a lot less sun.

Long Beach has been great to my husband and I Black female, Hispanic male. We have to move because of our jobs but I love it here. Very accepting and diverse. Large population of Black Female/White Male. Many multiracial children in the schools. Schools are also Blue Ribbon. And the Bixby area is safe 90807, also 90813, or 90802. You do have to be careful because some places are sketchy. Not that expensive to rent either.

Also San Diego seems like a good place for that combo.
