That can be a two-way street. This is a direct quote from my friend Micheal's Chinese from China wife: "All you white people look the same to me."

For some reason, that failed to light the fires of indignation in me.

You're an expert? You were making a point?

I still haven't seen a quote from one of my posts in this thread about whites being victimized by Asians.

You should try reading your own posts some time. You contradict yourself and commit multiple fallacies. Just so you know, what you say shows how poorly you think. One reveals the other.

Maybe if UCLA didn't have a 40+% Asian population it would not be as big of an issue as it is who knows, but the "Ahhhh Ching Chong etc etc" was totally uncalled for and obviously will **** off a lot of people along with that Tsunami comment. Pure ignorance as Japanese is nothing like what she's describing, but all us Asians are the same so who cares right.
So calling attention to it is going to reduce racial tension? That doesn't sound like the smartest way to go around things. Most of the UC campuses are pretty damn segregated as it is because the STUDENTS THEMSELVES don't go out and try to understand the other side. There comes a certain point where the institution itself is not to blame anymore, and has to fall on personal responsibility.

I blame this ONE person and this ONE PERSON alone for the stupidity of her comments. She didn't say anything illegal, nor anything that could be considered incitement or fighting words (look up the fighting words doctrine, from Chaplinsky v. New Hampshire [1942]) so the whole idea that "its for the public safety" goes right out the window.

Until you make the words mean something, they are just that, words. Anyways, its good all of this is out in the open, instead of doing some passive-aggressive BS where we all hate each other secretly.

I won't let this ONE PERSON define who I am. If she thinks all Asians are the same, that's her problem. It won't change anything about me. Most of my friends, Asian and non-Asian, would agree with me on that assessment.

Anyways, good comeback from this Asian Dude. LMAO

Hah, that video was made by a friend of a friend of mine in Sacramento.

As a Muslim American (not very religious, but still identify with the religion), I'm pretty glad the way most Muslim Americans handled themselves in the post 9/11 world. Unlike in Europe, where Muslims actively RIOT (for various reasons that aren't relevant to America thankfully), Muslims here for the most part don't care what most of the bigots have to say and live their lives. Sure, there is a vocal minority who aspire to live through some sort of stereotype, but for the most part life has to move on and not be held hostage by a few wackos who think that THEIR interpretation of things in the world is the right one.

At the end of the day, all any of us are trying to do is survive. Purposefully causing tension for little or no reason doesn't help anyone, but rather causes more problems in the long run.

As a final note, I will never EVER let anyone make me into a victim. Don't make me feel sorry for myself because of things I have no control of, its pure stupidity! I'd rather take that energy and put it into bettering myself, my loved ones, and my community.

Im glad we can all be open and transparent about issues such as these, im sure other minorities would feel all homie with us Asians since we are much singled out as they are by you know who.

Mean time, a little more humor. This one for the kind message left for me.

So now we have an Asian who's dissing a blonde bimbo while imitating the vocal delivery and mannerisms of a black dude from Watts. This is getting too complicated.

How overly sensitive have we become?
Free speech? Sure. Overly sensitive? No. Maybe to some people. The problem is not about her free speech. The problem is that she abused it by remarking with racist comments. You don't tell a black person that they're being ovely sensitive because someone used the N word, eh?

BTW, the Asian guy was hilarious...But right about a lot of things.

http://www.ucop.edu/news/factsheets/...ns_table_1.pdf
UC wide demographics:

37.4% Asian
32.4% Non-Hispanic White
24.6% Latino
4.4% Black
0.9% American Indian
0.3% Pacific Islander

Going to a UC and complaining about Asians is like going outside and complaining that there's oxygen in the air, especially to campuses like Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD, UCI, UCD. The only two campuses that have Non-Hispanic Whites as the largest group nowadays are Santa Barbara and Santa Cruz.

So again, the university doesn't really need to do anything. Her classmates will do it.
