I graduate at the end of the year and plan on moving to California. My boyfriend wants to go to Berkley for Grad school, but the prices are so high. We like being close to a city (like an hour driving distance), but we live around natural beauty. Is there a town around San Fran that is affordable, but also safe? Any info would be awesome!! Thank you!

If Berkeley, Oakland, Emeryville are too expensive, you could look into Walnut Creek and Pleasant Hill.

Walnut Creek is very nice, but I don't know what prices are like.

Ignore the person who said "Richmond."
