Mind you that both AT&T Park and Candlestick Park are located near the Third Street corridor up the road from the roughest areas of the city in Portrero Hill and the infamous murder zone known as Hunter's Point. I wouldn't be surprised if similar incidents were to happen in SF.
I would be surprised if something like this, or worse, DOESN'T happen in SF. Threats of a payback can be heard from a great number of people and also online.

Angel Stadium has also become more violent in both the stadium and parking lot, as well (considering there were two murders there last year).

These thugs aren't Dodgers fans.... they're most likely LA Raiders fans with no home.

Now Raider games were a different story. I remember going to Raider games with five other big dudes, in the middle of the day, drinking loads of beer, surrounded by LAPD and we're Raider fans ourselves - and I was still nervous.

The Dodgers organization just announced that they've hired former LA police chief Bill Bratten to look at their security and see what they can do to improve it.

Let's see what happens with that.

Also, a candlelight vigil will be held tonight just outside the hospital for the victim.

The Raiders were branded with their stigma in LA, so the same people are still to blame.

I wonder if this recent tragedy would make a potentially future NFL stadium built elsewhere besides downtown LA more appealing. Somewhere like Irwindale, or perhaps upgrading the Rose Bowl to NFL standards.

That's nice to know.

What a sympathizer mentality you have, and that sympathy is being exploited by illegal aliens and white-hating azatlan latinos who want to supplant English with Spanish.

Do you mean the US national anthem? No way, they would hate that.

I agree with others that the violence seen at these games is a reflection of the increasing latino demography of LA and so much of CA which is one that values hostility and violence.

It's a shame that non-violent working class and other people can't go to sporting events anymore with the reasonable expectation of being in a safe environment as sporting events really are just another venue whereat latino thugs go looking for a place to start trouble.

Though I know there are plenty of decent people who are sports fans, I personally have come to strongly associate team sports with latino thugs.

That's the only national anthem played at Dodger games. (At Angels games you could hear the Canadian national anthem as well if they're playing the Blue Jays.)

The demographics at Galaxy games are more Latino than those at Dodgers games (Dodger crowds are about 40 percent Latino vs. Galaxy crowds being about 70 percent Latino) and Galaxy games are very peaceful. Furthermore while some Latin American countries have traditions of sports violence Mexico is not one of those countries which do.

Unfamiliar with whites who start sports violence in Europe, or for that matter the Philadelphia Eagles crowd which is very violent and contains a large number of whites, I take it? Patriots fans are little better, and most of them are white.

If the racial/ethnic demographics of California today resembled those of 1970 but the same economic and social conditions were at work you'd have similar violence. It just so happens the state's more Latino now, but if there was a better economy and better conditions like there was in 1970 everything would be peaceful.

With interleague play, couldn't the Blue Jays play at Chavez Ravine too?
