There is a "Hole-In-The-Wall" type mexican restaraunt in Corona called El Torrero or something like that. Has maybe 10 tables in it. They're ok, but I have actually had better at chain places. I can eat El Toritos chips and salsa all night long.

Best mexican restaurants
Taco stands:
LA/Culver city: Tito's Tacos. Deep fried taco goodness.
Redlands/Loma Linda: Cha Cha's. Just south of I10. Awesome homemade tortillas. Worth a stop. Been going here many years.
Las Vegas and Needles, poss. other locations: Roberto's Taco Shop.

If you ask me, the best Mexican food I've ever eaten wasn't in a restaurant....it was at those little kiosks that seem to pop up around town when the sun starts to go down lol you know you're at a good one, when the line goes around the corner. There's a lot of those around Compton. Good stuff.

While they're technically restaurants, there are a couple of places in the valley that are little more than a kiosk, yet are surprisingly good, or at least they used to be.
In North Hollywood, at the corner of Sherman Way and Lankershim, there used to be a little "hut" on the northwest corner. I believe it was "El Mexicano" or something like that. I don't know if it's still there, or if it's any good now, but it used to have great tacos.
In Van Nuys, on Roscoe, just West of Balboa, was a place called El Aztec India, if my memory serves me correctly. This was also just a small shack, though a bit bigger than the place I mentioned above. It also had great food back in the days when I went there. I don't know how it is now. There were a couple other similar places around "The Valley" that were also pretty good, though I don't remember where they were anymore.
