I wholeheartedly support this idea-but ONLY if those funds are spent in the state assembly and state senate districts where those donations came from.

Quote:
Under La Malfa's bill, the state's income tax forms would include a line where Californians could give a donation to the state's general fund. La Malfa said his legislation would help raise revenue for the state and would offset the need to call a special election to extend taxes for five years.

In a recent study from the non-partisan public policy institute of California (PPIC), 46 percent of Californians said they would vote in favor of the governor's five-year tax extension, if given the chance. Sen. Doug La Malfa said his legislation would give those Californians the opportunity to do just that.

"They can put their money where their mouth is and do it right here," La Malfa said. "Via this line in the next tax form, which would be taking affect during this upcoming budget year, if indeed we are successful in this legislature."

I'd support it, Warren Buffet wouldn't have to complain to the media how he feels so guilty paying the tax rate he paid last year.

I'm sure the districts getting less money would sue for redistribution.

Sounds like a great idea.... . Now all those liberals who don't care where there money goes can put their money where their mouth is. It's funny how that action shows you what people's words are really made of .. Given how much all the 'have a heart' folks care so much, lets see how much revenue they get. I already have my my guesstimates

Exactly.

Even better would be if we could designate exactly where we wanted our donation spent. That would be the best.

Hell, If I could get that, Id be happy to donate immediately and annually.

While you're at it, can you make sure to vote so those who don't want to don't have to give more via tax extensions? K, thnx.

Well, from a federal standpoint, how else are we gonna subsidize oil companies and billionaires? Poor things will starve.

How do we have any guarantee any monies given, would be put toward the deficit? The second someone gets a great idea and see some money sitting somewhere, bam. It will be diverted for their pet project of the month.

That's my general feeling about the taxes I already pay. Thus why I don't want to give these clowns another red cent. Those that don't are happy to disagree w/ me and donate their own money. I shouldn't be forced to give mine though.
