Four dollars a gallon, which we have now, has already contributed to inflation. Higher fuel costs translates to higher transfortation costs, which then means higher prices for everything. The USA is not Europe. Our cities are much farther apart, our infrastructure is much different, and we drive much, much farther on a per capita basis than do the Euros. We could not endure their higher gasoline costs.

Uh, great post. But you may be missing the fact that lefties do not really care about the evil ole economy (except when it comes to getting "you know who" back into the whitehouse).

Just look at the ideology that is firmly in place in cities Democrats have controlled since the 60's......Detroit or Newark anyone????

I research the issues and base my opinions on the results. I always stay away from political biased content and I try to find multiple sources and look for consensus.

Mr Rachel Maddow is a big time leftist on MSNBC, but then again, I think you know that?????

Too bad this never fizzled out.

If gas reaches 10/gallon in the near term it will be due to some middle east conflict issue like Iran blocking the pipelines or something that has little/nothing to do with who is the sitting president.

If gas reaches 2.50/gallon it's because we're in a severe recession and the economy will thus be in terrible shape.

Those of you who WANT 2.50 a gallon gas are basically hoping for a severe economic recession. If you think that it's more likely with a republican president then it pretty much means you think republicans suck at the economy.

Personally I think who is the sitting president has little to do with either scenario. The 2.50/gallon scenario would be the likely result of European turmoil or a breakup in the Eurozone, which has little to do with who is president in the USA.
