Default Rental in Safe Areas in Orange county area for 2 Students

My son is going to attend Cal Poly and his girlfriend is going to Fullerton. We have been checking all areas and cannot find a safe area with good pricing. They are looking for a 1 bedroom with a enclosed garage. He realizes it is an extra charge for the garage. Every time we think we have one, the area and the review posts are dangerous and awful reviews. I would really appreciate some suggestions. we have looked in Fullerton, Brea, Diamond Bar, Walnut and Yorba Linda. Moving from Chicago.

Thanks,

Question is what do you consider good pricing? Also, most complexes do not offer enclosed garages. You'll have to search neighborhoods for smaller complexes that don't advertise online

That's pretty cheap.

Remember when reading reviews online that it's usually only those who want to complain about something that turn to the internet. Rarely do people bother when things have been OK.
