The last time we had an execution here was 2006, we almost had another one this year but, it got appealed. On average it can take up to 25 years to execute someone here on death row. Its so iniffecent we should just do away with the death penalty like the North Eastern states did.

If California had a better system... it would not cost as much to carry out the death penalty.
If Ramirez wound up being put into GP, how long do you think he'd survive? As a serial killer, violent rapist (without regard to gender) and child molestor his remaining lifespan could be measured in hours, perhaps minutes, not years. He'd die a much more unpleasant death than he ever was if he was executed. Probably more along the lines of what his victims went through.
