This triggered an important question: why did they start putting the dot between the u and the b? Is that recent or has it always been there and I just didn't notice?

Well, make sure you don't include the following in your list:

Oregon
Washington
Idaho
Montana
Nevada
Utah
Colorado
Arizona

You know I wondered that too. But I selected the share option which does it - kinda strange. Anyway here is the same link without the "." from the top of the page:

And now CD recognizes it. Thanks for helping me figure out why it didn't with the youtu.be option.

Haha, then I'll be moving to Arizona. Or better yet if CA, AZ and UT all fall into the ocean we'll move back to CO. Then our beach front property will be in the same state as the Rocky Mountains.

20 years ago, 9 of 10 Chinese citizens pursuing their PhDs at MIT stayed in the USA to seek their fortune.

Now, 9 of 10 return to China because they, say, China has more opportunity.

Do you have a source for either of these statistics?

Ya'll know that North America is unzipping? Yes, in a line right through Nevada, and better yet, right through the Yucca Mountain Nuclear Waste Suppository. Las Vegas will stay in North America, Reno and California will be in the new continent, Let us call it, Calnevaorewashbcska

Unfortunately, it is anecdotal. I spend a fair bit of time there interviewing PhD candidates & hiring both faculty & grad students for specific consulting engagements.

While anecdotal & hence lacking precision, the direction is noticed by all and a concern to many of us.
