Blame the clown California voters put in office for that... He could have engaged in pension reform and more smarter cuts to reduce spending .. He didn't .. He's a democrat (not a republican). The state economy wont improve taxing people to death .. that much is clear .. because we had tax hike on tax hike for many years in this state and it didn't... CA has some of the worst unemployment in the country. What's your excuse for that correlation?

So, let me get this straight, w/ extra money in their pockets ...
Californians would rather by iCrap and foolishness instead of invest it in their kid's education?
Without more revenue enforces (what i call cops) trolling the streets trying to write tickets for unharmful behavior, suddenly public safety is going to be at risk?
Infrastructure .. California never invested heavily in in the first place... some of highest DMV fees/taxes in the country and the infrastructure still sucked...

You are getting to keep more of your money in your pocket, it is up to you to decide what to spend it on.. you scared California is full of morons who wont spend it wisely?

Tax increases expired... they weren't cut .. the babies in this state got used to a little more milk and now that the little extra is being cut off, you get to see just how much more greedy they become w/ the more you give them.

Its sad how so many rank and file republicans have become foot soldiers for the cause of preservation of the wealth of millionaires and billionaires.

I have been asking myself that question ever since Joe the Plumber stepped up to the national scene. I don't really understand what these "real america" rural conservatives get out of making their #1 priroity to increase wealth of New York Bankers while they call them hicks and spits in their face as they drive by them in their limo on the way to purchase their new yatch and escort for the night.

Is it just a very low IQ or does Joe the Plumber actually get off on making the rich richer?

As I recall, it was a democrat who had the say as to how the cuts were made. Funny how just like on a federal level people forget there is a democrat who is making the decisions .... I personally don't care to weigh into partisan politics as both groups are a bunch of clowns .....

Taxing people to death, overpaying public workers, and not giving any greater amount of essential services wont help things just like making draconian cuts wont help the economy...

A DEMOCRAT decided to engage in both ! No pension reform occurred.. TEMPORARY TAX INCREASES expired as they were set to expire.. this was not a surprise .. they were allowed for 2 years and some 10s of billions of dollars more in tax revenue was gained... Due to the sacrifices of California ...

Tax payers were generous to give even more.. What did they get for it ? Nothing ... What does the govt. do in return for the sacrifice? : No reform/draconian cuts.. and so you are right in the direction of your blame.. please note the party of the governor of CA : Democrat. A democrat made draconian cuts .. if that's what you want to call them.

In general, the stupidity and low IQ of Americans causes them to make the rich richer everyday ... Do they enjoy it? It would seem so.. they sure make a great lifestyle from doing so...

How do you ask? Every time you buy a frivolous and stupid product you don't need, you are contributing to the profit of a rich person. You are contributing to make shareholders and those that sit atop society rich...

They market this spend/pretend you're rich lifestyle to gullible Americans and gullible Americans... spend and pretend.

Looking around the valley, every MBA/nerd w/ a dream to get rich is making silly iphone apps ... Do people need angry birds and other silly games? No, and it starts w/ the $1 purchase.. then the $5 .. then the $200 .. and you are making people other than yourself richer and richer ...

Now comes the govt.... which hilariously benefits the rich each and every time you grow it bigger, give it more power, and revenue... Somehow low IQ j6p has been convinced that Daddy govt. is on his side and is going to stick it to the rich guy taking advantage of him... couldn't be further from the truth .. Somehow low IQ j6p has been convinced of a false dichotomy between republican and democrat when in fact they both are war mongers and bailout wallstreet .. I don't recall obama did anything different than bush in way of bailouts/war.. he in fact bailed wallstreet out even more and is engaged in more wars... But oh man his zealots will tell you different... Obama is for the common man ! Only those evil republicans hate America... <- LOL ..

But the thick headed low IQ j6p doesn't see this .. and this is the real great tragedy of it all ... They have these low IQ fools of America running around defending them (democrats) on a 24 hour basis against the 'evil' republicans... meanwhile they both (dems/repub) gather after a long days work in DC putting on a show and laugh it up at the stupidity of you all at happy hour. Toast it up w/ their corporate buddies and have a great laugh at your expense... But, you believe this false dichotomy exist ... So you feel one of these groups is on your side... They're both pimping you out ... One slaps you one year .. you go running to the other.. they slap you .. you go running to the other .. and they both get their jollies off as you scramble back and forth.

So, if you want to comment on the low IQ .. I think you should look at people from both parties that blindly follow these 'entertainers' like zealots. Brown is the one who made the draconian cuts and didn't make 'smart' ones. He's a democrat. I know it blows people's worlds wide open ... which gets to the money points I stated above.. No watch the zealots come running out to defend their beloved pimp ! The only tragedy is this truth .. and its a hard truth .. one that people automatically will defend against like your body's immune system.. for they can't imagine life w/o the pimps they have become so used to which preside over their lives....

And hey, as you were if it makes you happy... Just don't expect someone to cry you a river when your respective pimps slap you in the face and send you on your way....

For all of you talking about pension reform. About 8 months ago it was the flavor of the month on this board. People pounding their fists, saying, "I don't get that, why should they?" I told you then and no one believed me, there will be no pension reform. It is NOT going to happen; not the way you want it too.

I explained how Jerry Brown himself, is a beneficiary of said pension program. Yes, he will have spent a whopping 17 years in public service and is set to get over 100k a year, for the rest of his life. Yet, the police officer or firefighter, who spends 32 yrs in public service and gets oh, lets say 80K a year, is fat, lazy slob, living off the "dole."

Not only does Jerry Brown benefit, but so does every single legislature person. Judges, district attorney's, the attorney general, et al. They are ALL in the same benefit program and they were ALL elected by the people of this state. If you really think there will be some huge, gigantic massive pension reform, you are fooling yourself.

Pretty much .. the pimp hand must remain strong ...

They elected him.. He's a democrat... He made draconian cuts instead of smart ones .. and that is just the expected outcome. I am glad a determined few stood up to the tax increases ... ball was placed in Jerry's court and he slammed dunked it on Californians.

I am not surprised that you try to walk away from such a ridiculous comment. I would too.
Well pardon me, I was actually working during the morning. I'm sorry if you thought otherwise.

The only person who is walking away from a meaningful conversation is actually you.

You do realize that your statement could go either way, especially caters to the Democratic special interests right? How does the California legislature explain the unsustained pension and benefits, along with the generous salary raises given to the state workers during the recession years?

I don't disagree with you that the public education, public safety, and improved infrastructure is needed for our state, but what has our elected state officials done to show that these are important than playing silly politics?

Should the taxpayers continue to blindly hand over the money if there is no reform in sight? The California legislature (and I'm not choosing one political party over the other) is corrupt in nature.

Six months ago, I was on board for spending cuts and tax extension for another 5 years. Well, the development since then was an eye opener that pushed me to change my stance.

Well, judging from your posts in the Politics & Controversies forum, you're a diehard liberal. You're not expected to try to understand Republicans and moderates.

Isn't that dude's name is Jerry Brown? Known for being a fiscal conservative? I thought that is why California voters put him in office.

With the budget approved and neither side being happy, at least we're heading in the right direction.
