Here's a summary of the new budget:

Some state taxes, fees drop while others go up - SignOnSanDiego.com

The two big ones are sales tax dropping by 1% and the DMV vehicle fee reverting to 2009 levels. Can we get an AMEN!!!!!!!

sigh, its sad to see anyone who cares about this state praise this budget. Republicans are systematically dismantling this country state by state.

Well, I've paid a bit more attention to the the impact of the judicial branch. San Francisco will be laying off 40% of its staff and closing 25 courtrooms. Since the criminal stuff is legally required all the cuts to service will be in the civil side. San Francisco's looking at moving its civil cases to other counties, probably won't be Contra Costa or Alameda. You might see Yolo County jump in and start handling other counties trials on a commercial basis.

That's just one small puddle of the pond. Should be interesting. So long as the voters continue to demand the trend of unprecedentedly low taxes the services will have to continue to be cut.

I'm secretly hoping the Republicans grow a spine nationally as well and refuse to raise the debt ceiling. It's long past time we address the taxation/spending discrepancy.

I'm getting the same way. I'm kind of hoping Republicans cause a world financial collapse just to protect the rich.

The republicans protecting the rich?

Just how many ultra rich bankers, hedge fund and Wall Street executives that stole our wealth through criminal acts have been brought to justice by our democrat controlled government? They are not even being investigated.

Wake up man!

Interesting because my portfolio and that of the rich has been skyrocketing through the moon because no one is defaulting or setting debt limits... and everyone is getting bailed out...

World financial collapses would hurt the rich... not protect them.. I'm glad all the j6pers have been convinced otherwise...

It seems Americans once again will fall for the fear mongering .. this time perpetuated by the democrats that if the debt ceiling is not raised all hell is gonna break loose and armageddon is going to happen... Yet again, the populous will get screwed over by it increasing .. and who amongst the zealot democrats are going to call out Obama and the democrats for bailing out the rich once again? ....

*What's that? no one.. that's what I thought ... RALLY TO THE MOON BABY !
Make it rain Obama ... Dow 20,000 here we come

Dejavu ... Of 2009 all over again ... UNLEASH THE BAILOUT FLOOD GATES.. RACK UP MORE DEBT you idiots ..
Only person who is going to hurt from this is joe-average.. the rich are going to be laughing their way to the back as they already are from the national debt increases/bailouts ..

I'm always amused by those who say we should be taxed more when we happen to have the least available - like in a recession. As a result of taxation we have less spend less at the store. You know, an activity that stimulates the economy.

BTW.. Texas seems to be kicking our ass right now and considering the republicans haven't controlled anything save for an occassional governorship in this state for at least half of my life, I'd say its the Democrats who have systematically destroyed California.

Maybe if San Francisco didn't overpay so many of its employees, prevented pension spiking, stopped throw awaying money on community programs without paying any attention to the outcomes/results, or waste resources on Happy Meals and circumcision they'd have some money to fund necessary programs. SF's pension problem is a time bomb and their budget pressure will increase.
