"The guards, who are among Brown's largest political benefactors, would be able to save an unlimited number of vacation days under their new deal. "

"The governor is extending this benefit only to members of the California Correctional Peace Officers Assn., a union that spent nearly $2 million to help him win election last year."

You still want to have that special election to raise taxes? I mean the state has no money to pay for anything so they need to raise taxes right? But the state can always find more money for these guys, go figure.

The public, prison & teachers unions own jerry brown. Brown is unbelievable & should NOT of been elected. Brown is a complete liar & fake just like he was in the 70s. The teachers & prison unions are the greedyist in ca. The legislature has to approve the contract by 2/3 votes & that may not happen.

Okay, we get it. You're angry because you're not unionized.

Okay, we get it. You're an overpaid union member milking the taxpayer for every last dime possible.

Psh, don't I wish? It would be great to have a job, especially one that gives me reasonable pay and benefits and one that gives me protection in the event I'm wronged by my employer.

It's absolutely disgusting.

I'm a registered Democrat. I was thinking about voting to extend the tax increases. I will definitely not if this is the type of BS Brown and the unions are going to pull.

I detest the public employee unions. It's a strong statement, but I don't know if I can put it any other way.

Looks like there are a lot of people who made poor career choices and now have sour grapes.

Interesting little detail: Upon retirement when they cash out all that saved vacation time, it'll be paid at their current rate of pay... not the rate at the time it was earned.
