Default US News: CA Not among Top 10 States That Are Losing Businesses

LMAO.

Quote:
To determine which states seem to be losing businesses, I used data provided by economic consulting firm EMSI of Moscow, Idaho, showing business establishments per capita. Since the data control for population, they allow for comparisons between populous states like California and Texas and less populated ones like Rhode Island and Nevada. I was interested in each state's performance over the last few years, to account for the recent recession, so I measured the change in business establishments per capita from the beginning of 2008 through the end of 2010.

On the flip side, neither CA nor TX made this list:

So, the OP posts an interesting research article that conflicts with the doom-gloom club and they get ridiculed for it.

Its an interesting statement about human psychology. When people want to believe things not much stops them from believing it....

Does this methodology take into account the size of a business establishment???

A Fortune 500 corporation with $30 billion in revenue and 10,000 employees in a state probably has a bigger impact on the economy and employment than 20 small companies with 10 employees, but the 20 businesses offers "more business establishments per capita" than the one Fortune 500 company.

California is a great state to own numerous types of businesses. The tax rate is worth paying considering the large population willing to spend money.
