Well, I dont know if I agree since coastal areas are also performing very poorly as far as job creation.

The problem is politicians aren't smart enough to think beyond real estate, construction, financing and related activities to provide jobs.

Know someone who has been doing just that, but is getting out of it for a good reason....amateurs are getting into it and getting stupid again.

I am not talking about flipping, which if done correctly can bring in some good money but you need cash for purchase. Anything under 150,000 right now thats move in ready goes real quick in a decent area.

I was referring to a buy and hold strategy in the right areas.

I actually agree with the article, and I'm being genuine about it.

The inland California will always lag behind the economies on the coastal areas, especially in San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco (sorry Majin Buu, Sacramento isn't making the list). This is because these are top attractions to businesses worldwide. There will be always be plenty of Business to Business in these cities where the inland California is mostly utilized for resources such as oil and agriculture. There just aren't many Fortune companies located inland.

Unless the private sector of small businesses gets going again, we're in for a long haul to recovery because the bulk of them are in central valley.

Just my two cents.
