Wink RELOCATING TO ROSEVILLE,CA ( Foothills)

HI! Im going to be moving from Gardena,ca to Roseville,Ca next month. Can somebody please help me with some advises about the foothills area?
I have two small children, and i already heard about people doing a lot of drugs around the area.
Please help with some advises about schools and good places for kids.
Thanks!

In general it's a typical suburb. Rocklin/Roseville from what I have seen doesn't appear to have much crime. I think you will find drugs and alcohol in any high school system in America these days, so it's really how prepared your kids are to avoid it.

The local websites are www.roseville.ca.us (currently down at time of this post) and rocklin is City of Rocklin - Homepage Hopefully there is some school info on those sites... I just use them to direct people for first time home buyer assistance programs.

You may want to post into the Sacramento forum, as many people subscribe to that one, but not the CA one... probably get a lot more local parents who can help advise you on schools in that forum.

Welcome to the area

I grew up about 15 minutes from Roseville. It may have some drugs as all places do, but that is not the overall scene by any means. Most of Roseville is very safe, and coming from Gardena, I think you will be happy with it as a place to raise children.

I grew up about 45 minutes east up I-80, but visited Roseville often since it was the closest area for any "major" entertainment (mall, ect.) I think Roseville is a very nice city for being on the large side. It is full of a ton of new developments, stores, and plenty of cardboard cutout houses popping up everywhere. Also seems to be generally clean, at least compared to Sacramento and it's immediate areas.

There is going to be crime as with any large surburban area, but as for drugs i think most of what you'd find would be marijuana. Lots of kids bored and nothing else to do.
