I just feel it's incumbent on me to remind the "good old days" types that the good old days weren't all
good and that some people had more to worry about than the state of their head when they came indoors.

I know, it's a character flaw... but I'm all about perspective. Can't help it.

This thread is just crying out for help. All the strife and conflict in the CA forum these days! My lordy!
So, I've got the solution right here. You just listen and watch and you can feel the animosity and conflict just drip out of your pores, leaving your whole body and mind cleansed and refreshed.
Sir Ivan (aka "Peaceman") is godlike in his abilities. You see, there are a bunch of these guys with spears and shields going at it (no, not in a good way) and along comes Peaceman, and lo and behold these hot nubile chicks appear out of nowhere (with mighty fine breastage, to be sure) and everyone just stops in wonder at the magical "Kumbaya" that emanates from Sir Ivan (aka "Peaceman", if you didn't read too carefully just a couple of lines above).
Anyway, it's a blessed event that will impact you no end.
I expect to witness nothing but hugs and kisses between y'all from now on.
Go ahead, Peaceman, work your magic.

yes, of course, I've been drinking (see CA Wine thread).

Heaven's NO! Eating without lively face-furniture is so very gauche! -- Dame Edna

Default California: Hats Off or On while eating?

It's a non issue for most people, I personaly could care less and I'm a old school kind of guy. I see people wearing hats all the time while eating out. It like wearing shorts used to be a no-no eating out also.

So true. Personally, I'll take 100 people eating with their hats on over one tatted up ink freak. Now THAT'S an assault on my eyes. Especially when it's a female of the species.

But I won't kick a tatted up ink freak out of my house...

If I'm wearing a hat, I'm wearing a hat. If I didn't want to wear a hat, I wouldn't wear a hat. Unless the food is messy, like bbq wings, I'm keeping my hat on. Typically I either wear a hat because: I'm supporting my favorite baseball team, I'm having a bad hair day/greasy hair (there's no way I'd ever take it off at a restuarant if this is the case! gross!), or I just feel like wearing one.

Same with sunglasses, but I wear those once in a blue moon (not including while driving).

I just don't think it matters.
