I was working at Edward's Mansion in Redlands back in 1978 when Raquel Welch came in for lunch with an entourage. She was not nice. From then on I have avoided public figures like the plague. Here in Carmel I have seen several "stars". I pretend to not know who they are. I think they are happier that way.

Sorry about that, faulty machine. I'll continue. When I walk past rows of magazines
with so call celebrities on the covers, most of them I don't know. A real star is known
all over the world. I was lucky enough to meet a few when I was a teenager in London
in the 70s. Some old movie stars would appear in plays there. This way I got to meet
Ingrid Bergman and James Stewart. They were both friendly and chatty with me. It must
have amused them that an English kid knew so much about their old movies.

Sorry English Dave. Raquel was not nice. I am using very polite words here, I could use much worse. Not only was Raquel not nice, she did not even allow the wait staff to be tipped. It was really a slap in the face.

I'm not surprised. Heard that my heart throb (Johnny Depp) is very generous. I still wouldn't camp out anywhere to meet him, but he does make me *swoon* when I see him on TV or a movie Actually, we were in Oahu last year, and they were working on one of his films (Pirate of the Caribbean part whatever), so we got a look at the ship from afar, but there were people lined up in the drizzle waiting for a "glimpse" of Johnny. As much as I love him, I wasn't doing the cold, drizzly rain to see him in the flesh. Better to remember him in movies and be nice and comfy in my condo, fantasizing about a glorious night with him instead. Okay, I got carried away there with that fantasy...forget I shared my innermost feelings on the board

Does Clint know about this? (your innermost feelings toward Depp) ... I should think he'd be distressed and maybe even fall into depression ... careful what you publish ... peoples lives and happiness are at risk.

And what's with "cold, drizzly rain" in Oahu? I live part of the time (on a boat) in Hawaii -- home base Oahu ... I see locals in "hoodie" sweatshirts in the 76* mornings and on the days that occasionally don't make 80* and up ... are you one of those? Cold, drizzly rain! Indeed! Wow, don't visit my third state (western Washington) from Sept. through June ... would be traumatic ...

Unlike me, with my undying love for Raquel Welch, my wife is fickle. For many years
Robert Redford was her dreamboy. Then a few years ago, she felt stirrings for Johnny
Depp. Trouble is, she only likes him with makeup on, like the Pirate films

I had to come back! I just got a flash of memory about going to the cinema with my
late father over 40 years ago. I convinced him there was a good film on called John and
Mary with Dustin Hoffman and Mia Farrow. But the real reason I wanted himm to go was
the other film on the double bill - Fathom with Raquel Welch. He sat through the very
slow John and Mary. When he realised Raquel was in the other movie the penny dropped!
He said "you've got me here just to see Raquel Welch!" He got up and walked out. No way
was I walking out on Raquel, I watched the rest of the film alone!!

When i was working in Carmel, i saw Kim at the Mission Ranch. She was living in the 'California Highlands'.

We loved enjoying the patio at Jardine's in San Juan Bautista. We often rode my 1967 BSA 650 Lightning on the backroads. We were living in Prunedale.
