Well, you know I consider it one of my many civic duties to kept Americans alerted to the ever present danger from the north ... so much focus on the southern border while the north goes about its sinister business. Vigilance is my middle name. Don't let those sneaky Canadians fool you! They're down here all the time for the fruit (and nuts) (and vegetables) ... and you can imagine what they would do if we went up there for their moose! No reciprocity!

You sound like the perfect "kid."

Honestly, maybe it's just your friends. I live in California, and I don't know anyone here or elsewhere who has been obsessed with doing anything involving celebrities.

Yeah. I know. The others were just bit players too - Jane Wyman (next door), John Wayne, James Arnes, Andy Devine, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans during the summer, to name a few. Wyman was a bit stand-offish but made up for it by having her maid hand out dollar bills at Halloween. In the early 50s that was a fortune to a kid; almost a month's worth of Saturday matinees WITH money left for the snack bar.. The rest were down-to-earth and just plain folk.
