That is a very nice story. But I have to ask why you chose to put the word "Immigrant" in parentheses in your subject heading?

Ah yeah ... that was a reference to the other thread circulating about 32% of California reported to be immigrant ... but instead of posting in that thread, I thought this story was meritorious on its own. California melting pot observation.

Thanks for the clarification. To be honest, I have seen that thread, but have not clicked on it. I'll go see what the thread is about.

Donations happen all the time.. There was no reason to post that the person is a (LEGAL) immigrant .. Most people in the U.S are .. only trying to stir the pot I would surmise .. in other news ..

Bill Dietrich, CMU donor, dies from cancer - The Tartan Online
William S. Dietrich II, the former steel executive who recently announced a donation of $265 million to Carnegie Mellon

The Pittsburgh Foundation has received an $18.1 million bequest from the estate of the late William S. Dietrich II, another in a round of donations given since the steel industry executive's death Oct. 6.

So much for your hardcore assertion that the wealthy are evil people.. It's good that this person donated back to the school which fostered him.. I make it a point to donate and double my donation on a yearly basis back to my university... As do many others (legal immigrants) of course.

Never have said such ... and the reason for posting the immigrant denotation has been explained ... in reference to the current thread running about California's immigrant population ... never said anything about illegals ... you are just touchy

I just decided to make the distinction (given other threads) since you decided it was necessary to indicate the person was an immigrant.. I decided to indicate that most people in the US are (welcome to America).. (LEGAL) immigrants of course .. touche'
