Monterrey/Pacific Grove by far.

I've had to move to San Jose a couple of times for jobs over the years, I've never been able to stand it for more than a year. I won't say it's bad, just that I don't like it. It's more of a younger person's city.

I don't like living in the Central Valley overall, but like it more than I did living in Silicon Valley. I like a slower pace and not feeling crowded all the time.

I almost voted Fresno because it has a weird appeal.

I voted "other" because Riverside isn't on the list.

Sadly, I can't name even one city that I "like" in California anymore... Used to have a couple of them. Now I just like some rural and wild nature areas; CA cities disgust me at this point, being overrun with rude jerks, mean drivers, greed, social/class division, survival struggles and "ghettos", plastic people/MacMansions or narrow-mindedness... The city that I like now is Portland, OR. Sometimes I wonder if it's time to move. Can't beat places like Yosemite or some national forests here though. I like a couple of tiny remote towns in Sierra foothills, they're not cities, though, more like villages.

Gotta go with "Other" - any California city I'm not in is my favorite now!

None of the above. Would have voted other, except that choice sounds like a grab bag and not sure what place would come up. This poll rather reminds us about the old joke of the man condemmed to death but being given multiple choices as to what form of execution he prefers.

Both Curmudgeon and I agree with Steve McQueen when he said, "I'd rather be in the middle of nowhere than in any city on Earth." The only difference is that I choose the wide open spaces of the American West, and he chose Missouri
