I should have voted for Fresno - but I gave Bakersfield the nod.

And yes - I am the same Harrier who called Fresno an armpit in another thread.

But I find the city fascinating - I find the entire Central Valley fascinating.

Can you really blame me?

1. San Francisco
2. San Diego
3. Los Angeles- Sadly I had to choose LA, simply because I like Newport Beach, and some of the other beach towns. But the actual city of LA is garbage, as is much of greater LA.

Worst city

Fresno! It was a tough choice between Fresno or Sacramento, but I had to give Fresno this title. Located 3 hours away from both the Bay Area and LA, smack dab in the middle of the central valley, disgustingly hot weather, terrible smog, crime, literally smells bad, no tourist attractions, nothing of interest- no positives. On the other hand, Sacramento is only an hour and a half away from San Francisco and the weather isn't quite as bad as Fresno.

If location didn't make a difference, I would have to say that STOCKTON is the worst city in California.

My favorite was not one of the options.

Best city in California is Santa Barbara!!!

(I am slightly biased as I am a resident of SB)

lol at San Jose in last place with a pathetic 1 vote. Bet it's from someone in San Jose too.

As lame and boring as Man Jose is, I'd rather live here than Oakland. At least crime isn't as big of an issue down here.

Surprised by how many votes Bakersfield has gotten? Is that a joke? Or maybe it's not the complete dump that it's perception has led me to believe. Never been there.

My favorite city would depend on what I was planning on doing or seeing: The place I want to visit certainly would not be the place I would want to live;

Visit: San FRancisco has to be at the top for me.
scenery: anyplace along the pacific ocean in the mid part of the state
living: if I were to live in Ca again, which would not happen, I would want to live in Sac or Paradise.
to bring back old memories: Los Angeles
