Crickets drive me nuts. Can't sleep. So, are they bad up in the cool Hunboldt County?

If you are on the coast the crickets and treefrogs are fairly quiet, but there is the southern part of the county and the interior and the crickets and frogs can be deafening. This has been one of our warmest summers here on the coast and the crickets have been heard a few times. It does seem like when the fog rolls in the night becomes silent and muffled.

I don't live in that area, but we had a huge amount of crickets for a few years. We got chickens and we let them have run of our yard. No more crickets! The chickens loved them!
