Silke8261 is on a distinguished road
Default What is more expensive in Northern California?

We are moving soon from Turkey to Travis AF Base in Solano County and I have been reading a lot about the added expenses in California. We have been based over seas for the last 5 years so California will be quiet a change for us.

We wont be able to buy a house, which I believe is one of the most expensive things compared to other States in the US, but what, besides gas is more expensive then other States? More tax, groceries????

Maybe somebody has a list so we are a bit prepared.
Thanks

I don't think the areas around the base are that expensive.

Utilities are not cheap. Hopefully the place you find is energy efficient.
