I'd be willing to pay to send those California politicians to a "conference" on the Hawaiian island of Kaho'olawe. After they're all ensconced there, I'd petition the U.S. Navy to use it as a bombing range again.

Fire them all and get in politicians who will pass laws to ban this kind of thing. Voters really need to stop saying "well all politicians are terrible, except for my local congressman/assemblywhatever/senator because he/she really cares about my district/state." Here's a hint, generally they don't care about your district, they just care about angling for lobbying jobs after they quit politics.
