Post High wind watch: West slope northern sierra nevada

Which is in effect from Wednesday evening through Thursday morning for the west slope of the sierra Nevada including western plums county.
Timing: Becoming very windy Wednesday...and continuing into Thursday.
Winds: Areas northeast winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 50 mph...and 30 to 50 mph with gusts in excess of 70 mph over remote ridges.
Impacts: Potential for damaging winds. Precautionary/preparedness actions: A high wind watch means there is the potential for a hazardous high wind event. Sustained winds of at least 40 mph... Or gusts of 60 mph or stronger may occur. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts.

There are warnings going up in many other places as well.

Watch out if you are driving anything tall that does not have a low center of gravity, from tomorrow morning until Friday. Also be prepared for power glitches and black outs.

Interesting that you pick the 38th parallel, that is the boundary between North and South Korea.... a sometimes quite hot place!
