Stockton Sets New Homicide Record - Sacramento News Story - KCRA Sacramento (http://www.kcra.com/news/29943847/detail.html - broken link)

56 Murders in 2011 breaks 1992 record

STOCKTON, Calif. (KCRA) -- Stockton police say the badly decomposed body found in the Julienne Apartments in downtown Stockton is a homicide victim.

That marks the 56th homicide victim this year, and breaks the previous record of 55 set in 1992 in Stockton.

Tuesday night, police arrested Devon Epps, 36, who was the tenant in the apartment.

Police have not released the gender, the identity of the victim or a cause of death.
