Typical La Nina ... Meanwhile NorCal is experiencing a nearly dry December (split storms, etc). Not as bad as 1989 which was a completely rainless December, but pretty danged dry.

Fine with me. One of these days we're gonna get absolutely dunked on with rain. It does seem awfully dry here so far though for winter.

Why, do you prefer rain to sun? Some rain is nice, but not too much in my book...

- more rain = more water for the Bay Area's water supply up in the Sierras
- lots of rain in the Bay Area = lots of snow for skiing in the Sierras
- it cleans up the streets a bit esp somewhere like San Francisco
- rain makes going out more of a pain in the ass but it makes being inside more pleasant and cozy

I don't really like the rain in the Bay Area because it only rains when it's really cold out so it's a clammy and largely annoying experience, but it does have some charms and benefits.
