All nice small cities with decent school systems and close to the beach. Just don't expect warm, tropical waters. The ocean waters on the central coast are icy cold since ocean currents run clockwise and the west coast is treated to the waters that run down the coast from Alaska. The water doesn't start warming up until you hit Jalama Beach close to Santa Barbara, even then, it's chilly...nothing like Florida waters.
Aye, all wonderful little towns.

And, i took a boat up along the coast to the North and you buck those swirling waters all the way to Seattle and beyond. The West Coast is a giant cliff that drops off deep.

Florida has that gradual shelf where you can walk out many yards from the sand and the water is only up to you shins. Shallow and very warm. Bathtime anyone?
However, the good part about California is the absence of Tropical storms.

The Central Coast is pretty darn perfect in my humble opinion.

Default 2nd That

An area that you must consider. As my previous post, Morro Bay or San Luis Obispo (The happiest town in America) are so beautiful. The Central Coast is a treasure!
