Moving to Sonoma, Ca in the near future and would like to know the best/safest place to live. What area in Sonoma would that be. If I can get specifics that would be great. I know absolutely nothing about the area (except the weather) and would be coming in blind. If anyone can help and point me in a direction that I can start looking in, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Honestly? From someone whose family is from there, and was raised as a kid there?

Generally awful - the 101 corridor is a nightmare, and expect a 2+ hour drive to San Francisco or Oakland from Santa Rosa (the county seat) 50 miles distant, not to mention the Golden Gate Bridge Toll... Even locally, they keep widening 101 (the only viable N-S route through the county) but it's still bad. If you go south (towards Cotati) it's only negligbly better. Going anywhere is a long drive to somewhere to get somewhere.

And there are other reasons to look elsewhere... but you didn't ask about those.
