The combined costs of the viewers reading this post in kilowatt-hours (CRTs, PC power supplies) is higher than the differences in cost described in the this post.

Twelve dollars?

That's how much my mom paid to renew hers, just this past Thursday (8/30, which was also her birthday). When I renewed mine back in 2004, I paid $15.00, so $27.00 is quite a jump!

Personally, I think they should make retesting mandatory. Then if you don't pass both written and driving with a perfect score you should be failed and not issued a license. If this causes the fee to be doubled, tripled, or more to pay for the associated costs, so be it. There are a lot of people with absolutely no business being on the road.

You're right. I'd rather live in Arkansas. I'll start packing now.

How much is a drivers license for an illegal alien?

Although the jump is not a large amount in dollars...More than double is a large percentage jump.
