The woman is special needs & refused to get off the bus & called the cops names. The man recording the incident was told to hand over his device. He didnt which was a good thing. The police wont look into the matter which im not suprised. Police should be policed. Now the cop can brag about punching a mentally unstable woman in the face. UGH !

L.A. County Sheriff's Deputy Punches Special Needs Woman in the Face - Hit & Run : Reason Magazine
Cop went overboard and should be in trouble.

However, you are kinda glossing over a few things like why the cops were called to the bus in the first place and that the gal is crazy with a history of violence.

Also, in the video you can see them holding her hands down and she is trying to move forward towards the male officer, definitely non-compliant.

I feel bad for the gal on a number of levels.

I dont understand why he punched her in the face but some say she touched the idiot cop. Once a cop is touched its considered assult & the he can use force to get you to comply. The cop is just a bully with a badge & gun. Props to the military vet who refused to give him his device. L.A.county sheriffs dept is terrible. Look at the sheriff (lee baca) & how they treat inmates in the county jail. To earn respect you must first give it.

Mental patients often have crazy strength. And that one was a big'un. While the elbow to the face seems overboard, some OC might have been called for, depending on her behavior. Or a taser. Just because someone's a whack job doesn't mean they can't hurt a copper.

Yeah, but a lot of police forces are getting heat over using tasers because it's caused deaths. Espcially a big gal like that is more possibly prone to heart issues too.

P.S. Definite props to the Vet. I'm actually more irritated by the cops treatment of him than the elbow hit on the crazy lady.

The deputy did treat the vet poorly. He not only told the vet to give him his phone but he also asked him if he has every been arrested or have warrants. The iraq vet said no & the puke deputy said "well see about that". Does anyone know the loser cops name & the iraq vet who served our country proudly for 6 years ? I respect that vet ALOT more then deputy dog.
