I don't see how anybody would want to eat at one. The CEO is a racist and they have had a history of denying service to blacks and other minorities.

There are plenty of other decent cafes that do not encourage racial discrimination.

They used to be here but not enough people ate there mainly because their food sucked.

I used to have two down the street in Lakewood from me up till 1985 or so.

One night we stopped in for dinner and I ordered my favorite cheese bread cheese burger. Order took longer than normal to arrive. I got a plain cheese burger on white bread. I call the manager over, new manager a Asian fellow. He had no idea of what Cracker Barrel had on the menu. I seen then that Cracker Barrel had went the Wong way.

New marques went up with name change. For some reason all Cracker Barrel's disappeared at the same time.

Agreed and the menu.
The location on South Street and Palo Verde next to Save On's.
There was also a restaurant on Candlewood St and Cherry Ave in Long Beach.

Interesting thread. Also, interesting was the reasons given by the company not to expand here.

I grew up in Chicago and would head a bit south to visit my grandparents when I was young. There werent any CBs in Chicago and I just figured that all of the CBs were off highway type operations that you see in regions with billboards everywhere for everything. I would have guessed that was there business model, hit the locations where one could put up a billboard every 15 feet telling you how much closer you've gotten. From what I remember the food was off that caliber.

There many locations where one would do well, except they keep Their prices constant regardless of the State they are in. CA is too expensive to allow that.

It is a good business plan as travelers, who they primarily appeal to, like to know costs when planning the trip.

I have eaten at them on every trip I have ever taken in the US and their food is good. definitely a cut above Denny's and the like. My wife loves the store, but that is OK as she has her own paycheck to spend. Breakfast aside from the biscuits and gravy and grits, which I hate, is quite good. Does CA NEED Cracker Barrel, nope and Cracker Barrel does not need CA.

Cracker Barrel sucks unless you like your vegetables cooked until they're grey.

Yup. I have never seen any discrimination at the locations I ate at. If had I would have not ate there.

I miss Cracker Barrel and a few people like yourself say we never had any in CA. Guess who I believe?
