Yeah they're saying Eureka has a forecast of 2.7 inches of rain and Crescent City 4.7 inches of rain. That's a whole lot more than the 0.6 inches of rain that is forecast where I live.

We're finally getting a good soaking rain today - as we should at this time of year in the foothills of Sacramento Valley.

I read this is pretty much over after the weekend and we're back to sun. I hope another intractable high pressure dome doesn't park over the state for weeks/months.

Here on the SF Peninsula, it poured buckets and blowed like crazy. As in...rain almost blinding, I hydroplaned several times on 101 and 280 (driving under speed limit), and rain blowing all over me.

However, thank God we had it. We needed it.

And yet, I'm sure KTLA and ABC7 flew every helicopter and sent every news van out from Yucaipa to Ventura to cover "STORM WATCH! BREAKING NEWS!"
