I am possibly moving to Fresno for a job. I live in an affluent community in IN near chicago. Where would I move to with great schools and medical system? I prefer, like everyone else, a safe area to live in that's quiet.

Do you want old affluent or new affluent? The Old Fig Garden area is old affluent (1920's-1950's). Van Ness Blvd and the surrounding area has large historic homes; Huntington Blvd in SE Fresno is similar. The areas bordering these areas might not be the safest, however. Newer affluent you can find on Van Ness Extension, north of Shaw (1960's+), Lake Van Ness, the bluffs, all in NW Fresno. Also the Ft Washington CC and Woodward Lake areas in NE Fresno (1980's+). Dates are approximate, just to give you an idea.

I would suggest getting a map of the Clovis Unified School district and sticking to there. It covers both Clovis and part of North Fresno. Good schools and generally the safest part of the metro area.

you are in for a shock. I would send you to North Fresno definitely. It is the safest with the best schools. I would also recommend clovis school district and woodward part area. I lived in fresno all my life and left when I was 22. I live in Orange County now and can't imagine going back. And if I did, I would move to very north part. GL I love chicago btw!!!!
