As I said ...

... and I am sticking with the trout for breakfast (and lunch ... and dinner)

And yet, here we are today ...
for the curious (economic misconceptions that need to die) ... it's pretty short and sweet to read:
3 Economic Misconceptions That Need to Die - DailyFinance

Now then, back to the "jobs" / employment issue .... there's the rub.

Yes....and it has already allowed "someone" to take advantage of it.

China has been quickly upgrading its economy, as can be seen by this thread topic they are now very advanced in some areas. The fact iPhone assembling in China makes up a small part of the total value of the iPhone really doesn't tell you much.... For one it says nothing about employment, though assembling makes up a small share of revenue it makes up a large share of jobs. But one should note that most of the technology in the iPhone is not of American origin..... America sold its high tech manufacturing base out for finances, etc years ago.

Increasing regulations and taxes have nothing to do with outsourcing. Companies can't freely outsource production...that isn't how global trade works. When trade is balanced then any outsourcing has to be offset by "insourcing" from another country....otherwise trade wouldn't be balanced. One can claim that taxes and regulation hurt the domestic economy, but the idea that they cause outsourcing is fundamentally flawed.

Outsourcing is only problematic when a nation is running a deficit, in that case its in a sense getting "free" products but its also losing jobs to other regions. Anyhow, the trade deficit is a largely Republican phenomena. It started with Reagan, was reduced under Clinton and skyrocketed under Bush.

The US trade deficit, etc is all correlated with lower taxes, lower regulations, etc yet you want to blame matters on the opposite. Not even a serious suggestion....what is the interesting question is why so many people believe it?

They are "associated", but not in the same way. US companies attempt to control US governmental policy for their betterment where as in China it is the government that has its hands in business.

Well they are all different. For example under Japanese control one can expect non-Japanese to be treated like dirt, on the other hand the Chinese have centuries dealing with multi-racial/cultural societies and other races/cultures could be pretty easily incorporated.

I'm rooting for the Chinese!
