Nearly $2 million in legal fees wasted to "save" children from "M" rated video games.

Nevermind that the industry was policing itself as far back as 2004, but that doesn't stop the state from fighting to mandate what's good for your kids and what isn't.

At least this ought to shut Leland Yee up once and for all. Now maybe he can actually focus on issues that matter to everyday people.

"When you fight the good fight for a cause you know is right and just, and it's about protecting kids, you don't ever regret that," Republican bill sponsor Leland Yee told The Bee. "

A poorly worded sentence by Ars. I believe this was a leftover from the Arnie administration that had pushed this bill to maintain the whole post-partisan facade. It is somewhat ambiguous the way it was worded.

According to his own web site and Wikipedia, he's a democrat. Given the district he represents, I don't see how he wouldn't be.

He's supposedly one of the old line SF Dems (not one of the new line Communist in Democrat clothing types). He seems OK from my own interactions with him but I know there have been several reputed scandals. But as we know, there are political machines that can produce scandals out of thin air, so who knows.

Yee is a Democrat. Without doing the research one could know this anyway. Listen to the language he uses. He talks about "just causes" and "protecting kids". Liberals use this type of pathos as a smokescreen to keep debate from taking place over their big government regulation, micromanaging, and intrusion of and into people's lives. They are arrogant and believe they can make decisons better then individuals. Since when is the government supposed to replace parents as the agents who protect children?

Voters who put the liberals into office have no cause to complain.

Since there are so many incompetent parents.

Conservative judges consider gore and violence to be matters of "free speech" for children, but find no problems protecting children from seeing boobies. That sure makes sense....

I'm glad California tried to fight this, but they were fighting a battle they couldn't win.

They fixed the article by removing the word 'republican'. Interesting they didn't replace it with 'democrat', just removed it. The press has an interesting way of trying to influence their readers.
