Anywhere in Sunset climate zone 16... Several hundred acres, strong wells about 1/3 of the land rich creek bottom, 1/3 pasture and 1/3 quality diverse forest.. Clean tasty plentiful well water and a creek and a year around pond.

you are right, there are a lot of cool places in Ca, but I probably wouldn't move back regardless. That being said, ideally I would have 2 homes, one along the ocean, probably somewhere near Monterey area and one inland, say Pladcerville, Paradise or Grass Valley. That way I would get the beauty of the ocean and the trees and greenery, plus peacefullness of the mountains, without horrible weather> I do love change of seasons, I just don't want 3 feet of snow all winter.
