Why would I eat that chihuahua... there's no meat on it. It's smaller than a rabbit. I'm talking about a big dog like Richards' hunting dog.

There is probably nothing "illegal" from obtaining a dog for food you just can't eat someone else's pet. Many Countries do. You ate dog? What was it like?

I don't eat predators due the higher rate of Trichinellosis but many do. That and I saw Coyote jerky once and wanted to puke.

I'd eat coyote jerky.... I think selling or eating any kind of dog or horse meat is illegal in California. I say if a dog is running around without a tag it ain't no pet. I remember when pigs used to have lots of trichinellosis. You just have to cook the meat at high temperature.

Dog is just like any other meat, if you put enough onion and garlic in it to smooth the taste... or ginger, like with goat meat. Dog meat has medicinal qualities. They used to put dog meat (and whatever/perhaps even whoever else, you just knew not to ask questions) in pies they sold on the streets. Used to be a lot of stray dogs on the streets before, now there's no more small ones, only biggest and strongest, and they stay in packs and trust only few people, if anyone. People take care not to end up against a pack of those in isolated area.
