California is known and loved worldwide for its natural beauty and geographic diversity. Less known is the beauty of our religious architecture, both grand and humble.

Fortunately a now-dormant California blogger has catalogued many of the Golden State's cathedrals in photographs.

How many posts before the proud atheists post about their hatred for religion? Morals are a nuisance aren't they?

To me the best cathedrals are Yosemite walls and towers, a lot of which look like Gothic cathedrals

Even atheists can admire great architechture. Lots of atheists adore the cathedral at Chartres, for example.

What leads you think that atheists hate religion?

Their disbelief does not make a hate statement.
I have seen this for 50 years, church members hating other church beliefs.
Catholics vs. Protestant vs Baptists, etc

Really funny when you get to know a father, priest, monk, etc. They are all very accepting of each other.

All in my back yard. I love living next to the Yosemite National Park.

They'd all make good weed dispensaries.

Great photos! I once had the ambition to visit all 21 of the California missions. Haven't done that yet but my cousin is down to the last two or three.

I worked on a earthquake repair and earthquake retro fit on the San Gabriel mission.
Seen the Monterey, Santa Ynez, San Juan Capistrano, etc. I have to say they were all cookie cutter with very little differences between.
