And I'm not the only one here responding to you with that observation ...

While you responded to my same observation a while back with supposed clarifications about how open-minded and good humored and appreciative you are, every post since has been back to the same sour message.

Humm,

The only sour messages are yours.

Weather and beautiful surroundings can't cover over the major problems plaguing CA. I am sad to see it, but not blind to it.

It is my "home" more so than where I live now. It is simply a home with a beautiful exterior and inside it is falling apart. Everywhere, no, but the problems are so bad that I do not believe they will get better. I would like to see that happen, but I suspect it won't.

Isn't it strange that States with minimal population and minimal resources seem to be able to get it together better than CA? CA should be the example, you know the "trend setter", not a bad example...

Yes the number [of illegals] is still dropping. However the damage has been done. ...

Uh, that was my point. The State, the physical land and it's attributes, are wonderful. It is the people who have messed it up. Legal and illegal, Conservative and Liberal, Capitalist and Socialist and of course the "Progressives", who have no clue. If that weren't the case CA would be a paradise with all the people, resources and climate, etc it has. It isn't.

Oops you did that on the illegal situation, and see how it supported my position?

My esteemed colleague from the great state of Tennessee, of course I have actually responded to your points along the way ... every one of them, I believe ... from overcrowded parks, to fraud and corruption, to illegals ... and others on other threads. I have demonstrated that pretty much all you say has gone wrong with California either hasn't, or is also true of many other places.

Now then, furthermore, a major part of my private little mission here is to point out that certain types of individuals have propensity for 'conflating' (as one infamous poster here loves to say) negative issues with specious places ... and this amounts to whining about common life challenges. It is a symptom, imo, of a personality flaw that results in focusing on negative conditions that either can't be controlled, or which can be overcome with a mind more open to life's work as, well, life's work.

Thus I do point to you, individually, as well as debunk the complaints.

Oh, lest I forget to give credit where it is due, you are far less guilty of what I describe above than a number of others on this board. You do balance your comments to a modest degree frequently. Good for you, sir. Who knows where such nearly moderate thinking might lead you

Best regards ... and toodles.

One of her sisters lives across the street from Whitworth College. Nothing against Spokane, it seems to be a rather pleasant city, but would often become bored, and while she was spending time with her dysfunctional family I would sneak away across the border and spend the day in Post Falls at the old dog track, now the site of an off track betting facility. Am quite fond of the Pacific Northwest area, and there are several places there that have been considered if and when I can get out of SoCal.

It's election day in California. I'm puzzled as to why it's reported only 35% of the state's registered voters are voting especially when the current rate of approval for the California Assembly is 9%.

If people don't like what's happening in Sacramento, why don't they vote to change it? Is it just easier to complain about it or leave the state altogether?

Disappointed and confused ...
