All I know is the scene has been dead at Chico for ten plus years. Those cops do not mess around. When students at Berkeley or Santa Cruz start to riot, they call in reserves from Chico...

That's good to know. I was in Sacramento during the last Pioneer Days riot ... but I knew it was ugly.

I think that's when Chico PD finally said "never again". I knew one or two of the arrestees.

The cotton fields of Tara, and O’Hara’s first horse ride, are around Chico, way up in northern California, some 80 miles north of Sacramento. Filming took place around Bidwell Park, Pentz Road, and Paradise Apple Orchard.

Film locations for Gone With The Wind (1939)
