Your honesty is appreciated, but with all due respect, that isn't enough to earn the opinion that parents of unvaccinated children should be thrown in jail and have their children removed.

You've only heard one side of the story - the establishment's side, influenced by corporate pharmaceutical and government interests - and that only superficially.

I'm not saying it's wrong. I'm saying it's not enough.

You might start broadening your education on the subject here. Or here. Or here. Or here.

Personally, I've had my children vaccinated, selectively, for the most dangerous diseases with vaccines that are not morally problematic. I'm convinced that vaccines can do a lot of good. I'm also convinced they can do a lot of harm. And there is enough potential for harm that parents ought to be free - barring exceptional cases - to independently determine what's in the best interests of their children.

Do you even know all of the vaccines recommended, suggested, or required in California? Bet you didn't. Here's a helpful chart for you. They are not equal in importance, nor are they equal in risk. A blanket "vaccinate everyone for everything" is just as brainless a position as "all vaccines are evil".

I see TEN vaccines, of those ten the only new ones are Chickenpox(we got the disease in first or second grade along with our whole class), HepB, and Flu, most of us older folks got the other vaccines when we were very young, those of us over 45 or so even got a Smallpox vaccine and the pretty round scar too.

Isn't the idea of the bill to make sure parents DON'T make "A blanket "vaccinate everyone for everything" is just as brainless a position as "all vaccines are evil"" decision regarding the health of their child?

That's how the bill is being promoted. The myriad problems with this approach are spelled out in the OP.

The state-supported medical/pharmaceutical establishment is far from an objective source of information on vaccines. Parents are only going to get from most doctors what they already get from schools and the media. This new requirement is redundancy in the extreme.

The real point of it is to make opting out so inconvenient and expensive that more parents will be coerced into compliance.
